C. Grant photographs people in the studio, at home, outdoors, at parties, clubs,
and family gatherings. In most of my photos, the focus is a single person or a few people together. I'm fascinated by the human form, expressions, and the connections between people. Photography for me is a way of experiencing life. I often feel I'm behind a lens with or without the camera. It's a way of looking at things — noticing the small movements of someone standing, a stairwell blending into the wall and floor, the shape of the space between two people talking, fleeting expressions sometimes out of sync with a person's surroundings, how the light makes a crowded place feel serene.
